Christie has been a resident artist in Sedona since November 2011, previously living in California's desert area, on Chicago's North Shore, and the east coast. Christie received a degree in Art from the University of New Hampshire, where she discovered a special talent with water media that has since developed into her own rich style and methods using acrylic, water and simple brushes. Each painting evolves through layer upon layer of color, graduated washes and unique treatment whether on paper or canvas. Her subject matter usually begins with a landscape or architectural element, yet in the process of painting, there is a departure from the realistic image - a point at which color, lines, shapes and patterns take over.

Christie first exhibited in the Chicago area at the Art Institute of Chicago's juried Art Rental and Sales Gallery, the Artist's Guild of Chicago, local galleries, and juried exhibits. In California's desert area, she received seven first place awards, and she has been participating in exhibits at the Sedona Art Center since 2010. She became a Juried Member Gallery Artist there in July of 2012, winning a third place for oil/acrylic in the 2013 Juried Member's exhibit. She will be one of five featured artists at SAC in May of 2013. Her paintings are found in private collections throughout the United States.
